New version, new bugs. First one Ive found is that it screws with the volume of any music playing when its running, lowering it to about half. Previous version didnt. Really annoying. Still the worst random letter generator on the planet.

Frustrating app. When it works its great, just as youd hope. When it doesnt you might be out for days with no updates on their site about whats going on.

I dont see anything wrong.

I just downloaded the new version of scrabble for $7.99. I deleted my old version because instead of updating it, I had two versions of scrabble on my IPad. What a hideous mistake. The board on the new version keeps changing size every time you move a letter to the board. Why? Why? Why? Who is this person that wants to pitch the screen so they can view the board EVERY TIME THEY PUT A LETTER ON THE BOARD. Who? Why? This function is annoying, and useless. Much like trying to write a review you cant see because the keyboard is blocking the screen. I hate updates and it doesnt have to be this way.

As a kid we always played Scrabble at family get togethers. I dont get to play. the physical game anymore so this app has been wonderful. It allows me to play a childhood game I loved at any time.

Update: as always another terrible update. Chat doesnt show letters after about 30 characters so you type blind. Teacher consistently says you have played Best Word when you realize that is not the case moments later. The relaying down of tiles animation every time you move away from the board to chat or check spelling is ridiculous and annoying. Notifications have ceased working so am forced to send a text outside of app every time I move which of course only works if playing a friend. The feature of telling you how many tiles are left in digi-sac completely worthless as it will say there are No tiles left and then give you 3 after you play. The political correctness of the new word list may be due to some official mandate but I will blame this app anyway. All notes below in previous review still apply. From 2013: Should be able to enter some sort of trust mode when playing a friend where there is no dictionary feature and your opponent can challenge the word you put down. Teacher also plays no defense and commonly puts down bad moves that set the other guy up. Hell also drop a blank for a 20 pt word if thats the best option which is ridiculous. If opponent swaps tiles, it should tell you how many he swapped. Faces and comments teacher makes are geared towards making you feel good about yourself but are actually cloying! Ratings system needs serious revamp.. Players who consistently hit 400 plus games who play only amongst themselves will be rated around 1300... List goes on!

I used to love this app until they updated it. Pretty horrible now, very disappointing. Just got the latest update. Still horrible. Please bring back local network play! Frequently fails to connect or update. Sometimes shows 2 games or none when there should be one. Frequently have to uninstall and reinstall

7/29/17. Still cant play. App wont connect to the network. I enjoy playing this game. Based on the current reviews, many people are experiencing this problem, even after the 6/21 release. 7/8/17. Still no new updates since the 6/21 release. Still not able to play. So bummed. 6/25/17. I still cant connect to the network. The 6/21 update didnt correct the issues. The app just tries and tries to connect and nothing happens. 6/6/17. Still an issue. Had connectivity issues before this June update and still had connectivity issues after the update. First had connectivity issues in May. Cannot play online or against the computer.

Thank you for deleting the auto recall feature, it was very annoying. I really like this game and I am learning a lot of new words - proof that an old dog can learn new tricks LOL. Thanks! New post: I just discovered they wont use words that they deem politically incorrect even though they are in the dictionary. Also changed to allowing some Spanish words when they didnt used to. Im deleting this game from my phone.

Glitches seem to be fixed. Love it.

What has happened to scrabble?! First, about a month ago, they deleted several ongoing games. Just zapped them away, along with records of the last 10 games. I suppose Ive lost them all, though I was winning all but one. Second, the game will now not connect to the server, despite phone settings. Ive even given scrabble permission to use cellular data, but the game still will not connect. Third, and this is a long-standing gripe, the dictionary will not allow you to select a place in a word to add or delete or change a letter. You have to type the darn thing out completely every time. EA, you need to fix this now. You charge $10 for this app and that implies quality support.

Twitter support doesnt reply back for my ongoing issue of being unable to Nudge opponent, upwards of 2 months, of a stale game.

It would be an awesome app if I could actually play the game!

Havent noticed any glitches yet. Great game to keep my word repository fresh.

I am a diehard scrabble fan and this app has ruined my respect for the game. Scrabble basically gave up! It was the gold standard and with this app it best me down. I started playing words with friends because the app is so easy to use. Shame on you scrabble for being so cheap about producing s good app for us scrabble fans

I like playing his game when I dont have service but really dumb when the computer uses words that dont even exist. It used Ovoid so I looked it up in the dictionary and it doesnt exist ?.

Fun EXCEPT their dictionary is NOT a dictionary, it only states if a word is valid or not. Hence, it is only a spell checker and you cant even learn what any unfamiliar word means. Thats pretty misleading in a game based on word knowledge that I paid $8.00 for!

Second Update: After fixing the notification issue for a month or so, it broke again. Update: Even after an update to fix the notifications, they still are not functioning. The clowns managing this app continue to break all the features that once worked so well. The notifications often do not work on this app. The gameplay is good, but it is baffling to understand how many failures this out continuously has. The chat feature used to have spellcheck capabilities enabled, but they decided to ditch it. I love the game, but I am baffled as to how EA can continue to mess up the functioning of a rather simple app.
