Enjoyable... except for the dictionary

For some reason under IOS11, every time I consult the dictionary, and return to the game, my opponent’s last play has to be reloaded. The dictionary itself is cumbersome - I wish I could just “X” out a word I’ve tried, rather than delete/backspace every letter individually; or change one letter of a search word.
