I feel like somehow the team at Hasbro has decided that figuring out their work around to actually invite friends to play with is some arcane puzzle that no one has access too. Very disappointing and poorly devised APP

The app would be fine if it didn’t keep forcing my iPhone to go to the App Store over and over again. As soon as I go back to the game it sends me right back to the App Store, so it’s virtually impossible to play a game.

I LOVE Scrabble!! However, when I play in Intermediate mode against the game, Scrabble puts down phony words (OTAKU, etc) and wins nearly every game. I also have the dictionary app open and verify that every night I play, at least 2 words aren’t found in the standard English dictionary. Hopefully this will be read by developers and the cheating will CEASE (or as Scrabble may call it, SUBSIST).

This game does not stay log in. Every other day I have to re-log in.

Freezing a lot

Every few months I have to delete and re-install the app because it “has trouble connecting to the network.” The FREE version always seems to work though. I paid to not get ads, but once again had to do the monkey-jumps-through-hoops game to get the app working. What’s next, EA? Loot boxes?

1/5/17: I still cannot find my Origin friends! They can see me but I have no way of connecting. 11/8/17: I can now log in to Origin, but I still see none of the Origin players listed so I can’t invite them to play. I just received a Developer response, asking me to update with 5.22. So I did, and using a new account (old one fails), I logged into Origin and it took!! Yea!!!! But I cant invite my Origin friends because none are listed?. Only my FB friends appear. 10/19/17: log in credentials are still not recognized, which is why I created a new account with my work email address. Now that account wont work: Im sent to the EA log in page; I type my email address in one box and Im told to check my emails for the new password. But the email with the new password never arrives.

If I could I would give zero stars. Awful game. Words with friends and Word Chums is much better. Scrabble sucks

My favorite game since I was a teenager.

Love aspects of this game (better than Words with Friends) BUT it continually has trouble connecting to the Internet and/or logs me out and forces me to log back in - sometimes multiple times a day. This game could be great if it were more reliable. Update: still the most unreliable app Ive ever used. At any given time one of my friends is most likely unable to log in ?

I find the game enjoyable and use the app quite a bit. However, I have never played a game with so many constant connection issues. No matter if Im using my phones network or very strong wi-fi, I encounter slow run times or nothing at all. Ive been trying to play a word for over 4 days now and it still wont connect. Ive even re-installed and nothing happens. All too typical for this app, really badly maintained UPDATE: they responded to my review literally 9 months later!!!! 9 months!

This is the original word game. Doesn’t contain annoying cheats and hints like some of the other games. Scrabble lets you play the game the way it was meant to be played.

Chat with opponents doesn’t even allow basic phone functionality such as inserting/correcting spelling or formatting mid sentence - must delete everything and retype everything. Also doesn’t allow you to play your own music even if Scrabble sounds are muted. Rude. Most importantly - Why not allow words like “zen” and thousands of other current standard normal typical words and curse words too? They are commonly accepted and highly used in most English speaking countries. Make a separate kids’ version that doesn’t allow internationally accepted English usage or curse words if you must, but don’t limit millions of adults to simple juvenile old fashioned English please. Thank you.

Scrabble is the best game out there for those of us not looking for friends. Good updates over the past few months make gameplay even more fun. Nice work scrabble app people!

Are used to not because use words but now I can Apple

this app clearly gets bad review after bad review. why is the review summary showing 4 stars, with mostly 5 stars??!! some shenanigans going on.

Dear Scrabble developers, The app won’t open games with friends. Please fix, I love to play!

I wrote this review a year or so ago: “App used to be ok. Still ok on iPad. Useless on iPhone. As others have written, for about 2 months the app will not load. Ive deleted and reinstalled 4 times. Each time it will work once or twice and then fail. Cmon, EA, it cant be that hard to fix. It worked ok for years.” It has continued to be very inconsistent. It now usually loads, but today it wouldn’t load on either the iPhone or iPad. Another frequent and annoying bug is that when an existing game reloads, it sometimes does not display all of the previously played tiles on the board, or will show a rack from one or even three or four turns earlier, which requires me to do a full close of the app (double-click home and swipe up) and reopen, at which point the rack will be correct and all tiles will be displayed. It’s potentially a five-star app, but EA continues to have persistent and unnecessary bugs. But the game itself is, of course, great, so I continue to plug along.

The game is just what you’d expect for a mobile app of scrabble. I love playing it but have stopped as it requires you to log back into it every time you try to play. Way too much trouble for a PAID app. Going back to freeware versions of the word game. I WILL NOT BUY FROM EA AGAIN.
