Update 9/24/17: Havent been able to log in to Origin for 5 days. I keep getting invalid username/password errors. Cant even log in to EA to get help because of the password error. Update 9/8/17: Game notifications have been working consistently since the last update. Thank you. Chat bar still not working. Also, please bring back the ability to see a guest rating before joining a random game. Either that or bring back the option to choose an opponent within a certain rating range. Fix those two things and Ill give you the last 2 stars. Update 6/10/17: Well, notifications worked for about 2 weeks, then it quit again. Now my chat bar only shows a few characters while Im typing, so I have to type without being able to see what Im typing. Im happy to see that they are working to fix the app, but so far the updates havent helped. --------------------------------- Really dont like the swiping to switch games. I accidentally switch games all the time while trying to place a tile. Also, really hate the no more turns window that pops up (even after it has notified me that it is my turn). 5/19: Notifications no longer work. There is a little red 1 on the app icon all the time, whether it is my turn or not & I have to actually open the game to see if it is my turn. Frustrating. Also dont like that I cant see the chat once a game ends.

Is there a rating for "This App Sucks?" Well things have changed since my last review. The app doesn’t crash as often but the chat is stupid bad. You can only type a handful of characters before the screen fails to scroll forward and you can’t see what you’re typing. 3 updates and this hasn’t been addressed. The keyboard has never worked properly, not using the built in keyboard APIs. Chats dont continue into rematch games. WWF does all the above flawlessly. The makers of Scrabble do not care about their users and need to address these issues and fix it. I dont play a lot of iPhone games but I have played scrabble on the iPhone since the original version. I prefer the gameplay over WWF and their app shows how much they care about the user experience. Ill change my star rating if these issues ever get addressed. I’d love to hear from EA with an explanation but they only respond with a boiler plate link to a useless site that tells user to restart or reinstall the app. That will not fix their negligence in making a good app.

The reincarnation in the digital world of this great old game hasn’t benefited its players as it might. One gets better at scrabble by learning new words. But the digital tutor in the game is useless in that regard. It’s no help at all when the tutor smugly says, “Not bad! But here’s how you could have made the best use of your rack,” and then deposits a string of gibberish on the board, with no definition. I’ve got a pretty good vocabulary from my training in English literature and medicine, and I have too much respect for this language to accept as a word a string of letters with no discernible etymological pattern—a string that could have been typed by a chimpanzee for all I know. If the “tutor” function is to be useful for players to improve their skills, then any words in the tutor’s database have to include at least simple definitions, which the player can access with a command button. Perhaps the whole dictionary issue needs to be reviewed. Our language has been open to the incorporation of new words from before the Norman Conquest. Not to accept a word such as “squaw”—used in English for centuries—is to erase a time in our history when English speakers were trying to make connections with whole civilizations of which they had not previously even dreamed. And It is infuriating when, say, a medical word of Latin or French origin, which has for years been used and continues in common usage among English and American medical speakers, is rejected as “not English.” I wonder what the tutor would do with “roux-en-y.” A lucky player with 2 blank tiles to use as hyphens should be allowed to play the word. I’ve not heard of the “dictionaries” listed in the game’s introductory material. The only dictionary that should be used is the Oxford English Dictionary, which is constantly being updated. Today’s game: it offers “cunit” as a “best word.” My online dictionary says there’s no definition for that word. But I certainly endorse the writer’s complaint about the rejection of “squaw.” ERHmd “Revise the dictionary” The PCU, vs. which I usually have been playing, has a weird idea of the English language. I laid down the letters for the word "squaw," which certainly entered our language early in the colonial period, only to have the word disqualified. Meanwhile the CPU put down the word "Flotel," which the keyboard resists and of whose meaning Im ignorant--Im imagining a smelly student hostel on a back street.

Latest version freezes in single player mode and won’t recover a game like it used to. It’s not so much the bug that bothers me but the company’s attitude. If I’m going to pay you for a product and report a bug at least do the courtesy of responding personally and follow up on the request. Company’s like Apple and Microsoft do that and so I’m sure what EA’s problem is.

I’ve dropped to one star because it’s no longer playable over the network. I got an email telling me I should reset my Origin password, so I did so, and now I cannot log into Origin through the app, nor can my brother, who’d also changed his password. ===== I am not a fan of Facebook, and do not play Scrabble online with that option. That leaves me with Origin. Unfortunately, I have to enter my Origin credentials almost every day because it seems to lose my login info. Its been like this for years. Why? Also, whats the deal with showing Guest instead of the person Im playing with? The game itself works fine. Its just the network stuff that makes me grit my teeth.

Update: 9/23/17 still no access; cant login at all, tech support called me last evening said its a known issue and would be fixed soon; maybe tomorrow. *************** Ok I spoke too soon! Today September 21, less than two weeks after my last review, my husband and I both are unable to log onto Scrabble. We both received emails from EA to our correctly designated email accounts prompting us to reset our passwords due to a possible security breach. We both verified the authenticity of these emails and proceeded to reset our passwords as directed. We have both been unable to access our accounts with any password since this password reset occurred and unable to reach EA support without waiting an hour for a phone call. Just the facts. September 2017 Great news! 2 months and only 1 network disconnection issue! Way to go guys! Thanks for listening to users! Scrabble stays connected without pesky network drop-offs! But network connectivity is intermittent at best and every time theres an iOS update for the iPhone its like nobody at Scrabble knew it was coming or tested it for their app. Really the game is worth supporting; come on guys !! give us some support! Upgrades usually are a bust; its like we are the testers. Logins take forever to get straightened out, no forewarning of new functions or features coming. Otherwise when it works it a great game! I play on an iPhone and the graphics and sound are fine. January upgrade broke logins in EA: unable to stay logged in; havent been able to play another EA user since January !!its March ! April 2017 Addendum SSDD!! A year later and still network failures; logins stop off active user list; days go by without being able to login and there is no apparent awareness by the Support Staff when there is an IOS upgrade on the iPhone platform that might require testing or programming changes to the Scrabble app. Please you guys in St Petersburg help this great game!

Officially done with Scrabble. Cant log in anymore. No patience for all the glitches. Scrabble/EA techs: your reviews are low for the simple reason that the app has glitches. PLEASE FIX IT OR AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ARE TRYING.

Game is doing better since the last update, however, still running into problems. Mainly, it freezes up when attempting to open the app. In the last week Ive needed to uninstall/reinstall the app nearly EVERY time I wanted to play. REALLY?! And yes- this is actually better than before when I couldnt play at all. Good grief, AE. Please fix the bugs. I like the game when it works, but is can be so frustrating. Its September 2017. 4 days ago I received a message that I should change my Origin password as a safety precaution... that it was good to go this from time to time, etc... So I did. Now I cant get into my Origin account at all. I contacted support (which was no walk in the park) and finally received a phone call. I was told others are having the same problem and to wait two days or so while Origin works out the bug. Well, its been longer than two days and I still cant access the Scrabble game! Concerned my opponents will have force forfeited my open games due to my lack of play and I will thereby lose my standing as well as history . Whats going on???? Ok, it’s the next day... Origin is finally recognizing my new password- BUT- all my history is gone. Really?!

Update- Now can not log in! Asked to change password, I did according to there instructions said update successful but still cant get logged in! Not worth the frustration please give me my money back!!! Another failed update. Shows duplicate games. Cant start a new multiplayer from scratch. "I paid for this game (repeat) I paid for this game." Tired of reviewing a flawed game. You ask me to review " please fix!" Or give all of us our money back!!!!! Dissatisfied customer!!!! Adding to this review, now after everything else "can not" repeat "can not" play with multiple player games even tho all people playing have the PAID version.

For about the last week, Origin credentials don’t work to log in to this App. (I checked my Origin credentials by logging in to the website). Is this iOS 11 related?

I play Scrabble with my family quite a bit, and I always have trouble logging in. The app logs me out if I haven’t logged in within 24 hours. Now I can’t log in at all. I received an email to change my password, changed it, and now every time I try to log in, I’m told the password is wrong even though I’ve double checked it. I’d give it four or five stars if I could actually use the app. Fix it, please.

You can no longer log into the central site and play with friends. Its been nearly a week now and EA wont give much information. Id like my money back.

I just deleted the app. Ive had it for like 6 yrs and it has never just worked for more than a few consecutive months. This time, it wont log me into Origin all of a sudden. Wasted several minutes changing my password to no avail. I was force-forfeited on a bunch of games I was winning! Over it.

For no reason I can no longer log in to Origin. Contacted tech support, they had no solution. Tech support lists my case as "resolved" but I still cant sign in. As well, the Help "chat" feature does not work - the pop up window says an agent will help in under 5 minutes - but no agent ever appears. This is very poor customer service.

Submitted help ticket months ago. Never resolved. Everyone I know now plays on Words with Friends.

I havent been able to log in to Origin for two weeks (kept getting an "Incorrect Email or Password" message.) It was annoying enough to be logged out of Origin all the time. All attempts to contact EAs customer support have gone unanswered. I really enjoyed playing Scrabble when it worked, but now I just feel ripped-off.

3 days now and still cant log in and play!! I have the paid version and this is ridiculous!! Whats the problem???? Would give you no stars if I could
