Update: things are working again! I also got a nice response from the techs with suggestions. My only complaint is still that every time I check the dictionary or write a message, it rewrites the previous word which is just annoying and time consuming. But overall things are back to normal. Update 2017: well, things arent better. First, the app crashes regularly. I have to delete and reinstall every time I want to play. Notifications are delayed. Every time I check the dictionary or write a message, it rewrites the previous word which is just annoying and time consuming. And you cant see more than one line of text in your message. When will you fix these issues?? 2016: Since the last update there has been a network error when it tries to connect to FB. I havent been able to play for a month. And since I paid for the app, Im not enjoying the new ads!

UPDATE: 26 Sept 2017 Despite the assurances of the developer response, I still can not login or play Scrabble. Further investigation uncovers a message on the EA Forum apparently from 5 days ago stating that for "necessary maintenance" mobile login service had to be brought down. They say theyre working on it, and that they apologize for the inconvenience. Bottom line, one of two scenarios are true. Option 1. They are working hard to fix it and are not able to. Option 2. They are not working hard to fix it and it will probably get done at some point. Or maybe not. Im not sure which scenario I find more depressing, but I know that its not possible for them to be BOTH highly motivated AND competent. So this app continues to disappoint. UPDATE: Sept 2017 In another new low, EA decided to change my password because they were concerned about "suspicious activity." The email said they would never send clickable links, followed immediately by a clickable reset link. The link brought me to a webpage that said the link had expired, but that I could request a password reset. Of course that didnt work either. Finally after two days of trying, I was able to find a different password reset link on some page in the EA site, and finally the reset went through. Now I can login to Origin on the web, but the Scrabble app still rejects the credentials. I know they are good, but they dont work. I have removed the app and reinstalled it multiple times. I chatted with EA help only to be told (finally) that I could take solace in the fact that I was only one of "millions" of customers experiencing the issue, and that the developers were working hard to fix the issues for good customers like me, and the problem should be fixed "within a few hours." "A few" apparently means at least 48 hours (and counting). Its such a shame that EA either can not or will not fix this franchise and just leave it alone. I have 200+ apps on my iPhone though I only use a few of them *every day*. And out of all of them Scrabble is the most frustrating, because the updates are always a step backwards! When EA finally resolves all the issues and the app is usable again, they publish another update and the cycle starts again. When it just works, I use it all day long. But then there are weeks at a time when somethings broken and we just have to sit and wait for EA to strap another bandage on another self-inflected wound. In this case, it doesnt even seem to be an issue with the app itself, but EA forced a password change and now I cant login? I feel like Im part of a psychological experiment to determine the limits of my tolerance for abuse, and that I am apparently possessed of latent masochistic tendencies. Original review: Were you folks at EA Sports victimized by a Scrabble-loving gang of wordsmith nerds when you were young? Did your parents beat you with Scrabble boards? Why do you continue to introduce new problems every time you update the app? Your continued release of terrible updates seems like a slow and devious revenge. This app doesnt need new features. It doesnt need new animations or sound effects. It just needs to actually work. It worked great 4-5 years ago, but every update seems to bring new problems. Current issues: -Duplicate games both in the current game list and in the recent games list. My opponent is listed as guest in one game, then by username in the next. Why? -Volume of podcasts/music playing in background is reduced whenever Scrabble is active. Why? -About every 6-7 days I get games where my turn display doesnt show all of the tiles that have been played. Sometimes it is the center square, sometime it is my previous play. Why? Can we get some developers working on this app who actually play it? Nobody who actually plays the game daily (like most of us who PAID for this app do) would be satisfied playing with the issues that users describe here and on the EA support forums. Please give this game the attention it deserves.

Forced to change my password via EA and i can login there, but scrabble will not accept my password and tells me it is incorrect. Now scrabble is no fun. Looked online and seems others are facing this problem. Please fix! Scrabble is the best game out there when it works.

Still unable to sign in Apparently the game is over. I wish a game competitor would provide us users with a quality experience and put EA out of its misery.

Well, something new happened. The game has me completely locked out! Seemed like there was a glitch while I was opening the game, it logged me out and now I cant get back in. My credentials are correct but I still get a log in error. Hope the next update corrects it. Changed passwords thru EA but same results. 9/25/2017 Now the same thing has happened to my wifes game. As the title says. My id/password is fine because I can access the ea site with it. Come on EA! Sort it out! ...one week later: changed password on origin site, STILL cant log on to scrabble. Downdetector has pages of similar complaints, all with the common thread of EA not responding. Following instructions on a generic Web page isnt good enough. An official response/apology along with a definite timeline to fix shouldnt be too much to ask for! Reset

The board game is true to the original game. The Dictionary function suffers with update, otherwise this would be 5 stars. (Comments don’t scroll when typing and the ‘erase previous word’ X doesn’t always work

I love Scrabble and have been playing through my Origin account since 2011. But ever since the weekend, I have not been able to log in on the app.I can however log in to Origin using the internet and I even reset my password, but still cant get into the app! On top of that, I cannot find anywhere on the EA website that give a technical support phone number.

Password stopped working. Reset the app, changed password and STILL it isnt working. Reaching out to Help is a black hole. I have played hundreds if not over a thousand games and now I may have to start all over. Gotta be a better way.

Can’t log in. EA says this is a known issue, but no fix has been posted.

The game works great but you have to log in to play against friends and random people online. And for over a year it has had ongoing problems where customers are logged out and cannot log back in for days or weeks. The only feedback EA ever provides is "we know about the problem and were working on it." After this long they are either not working on it ortheyre incompetent, or both. Either way, do not waste your money on this app.

Game is doing better since the last update, however, still running into problems. Mainly, it freezes up when attempting to open the app. In the last week Ive needed to uninstall/reinstall the app nearly EVERY time I wanted to play. REALLY?! And yes- this is actually better than before when I couldnt play at all. Good grief, AE. Please fix the bugs. I like the game when it works, but is can be so frustrating. Its September 2017. 4 days ago I received a message that I should change my Origin password as a safety precaution... that it was good to go this from time to time, etc... So I did. Now I cant get into my Origin account at all. I contacted support (which was no walk in the park) and finally received a phone call. I was told others are having the same problem and to wait two days or so while Origin works out the bug. Well, its been longer than two days and I still cant access the Scrabble game! Concerned my opponents will have force forfeited my open games due to my lack of play and I will thereby lose my standing as well as history . Whats going on???? It’s been almost a week and I can only play Scrabble on Facebook- something I’ve never done before. My new password still isn’t working (and I tried changing but several times...). Us anyone else having this issue??

Ive been playing for years using Origin. All of a sudden I cant sign in. It keeps telling me I have an incorrect email or password. I changed my password at EA. Ive deleted and re-downloaded the app. Nothing works. Please help.

When this app works, it is fun. Unfortunately, it only works about 10% of the time. Almost everyone I played with switched to Words With Friends. No problems there. HASBRO should look into how their trademark is being mishandled. Currently unable to log in, 9/17/17, so, the app is useless. Continues to not allow me to log in. 9/24/17

Since the update I cant sign in or get to my games. This is horrid. Please fix it or I will lose my games. Since several updates ago the ability to play has ranged from not being able to sign in to freezing, end games, deleting games, and just general malfunction. It is almost not worth playing.

Please fix!

Cant log in to Origin. Its been nearly a week since Ive reset my password. Ive had to forfeit games because Ive been locked out of my account.

And no fixes yet? Origin wont recognize the user name & password Ive used for the past 7 years. Facebook login works fine, but I cant play on Origin.
