It keeps my family connected.

From 2 years ago: Ive been playing Scrabble with friends and guests for over a year. Just loaded the current version today. It works fine so far. Prior versions had a few quirks and occasional crashes, but overall good. Update 1/27/16: Version 5.1.0.xxx is a huge step backwards. Ive lost contact with most other real players; all appear as guests. The new artwork is bad. Tiles seem smaller, which is terrible on iPhone. Animations are distractions. The poor teacher lost his expressive face. Update 2/25/16: Since the last update to the app Im frequently asked to rate it again, so here: a couple of "improvements" have been made to undo damage from the poor version 5.1.0, but the app is still a shadow of its former self - my living friends are often just indicated as guests, the graphics are still degraded, there is no more ability to play against multiple computers, and on and on. Update 5/24/17: About three weeks ago the app would not reliably load current games. Those on Facebook more often failed than those on Origin. I tried various tricks - starting and immediately leaving a new game, and deleting and reloading the app. The problems went away with the app update of May 18.

Because The prior app stopped working weeks ago. I could not get a refreshed games list on the phone, and then the same problem occurred on my iPad. I just updated and the iPad is a bit better- some games are there. But the phone is still useless. Dont bother to delete and reinstall the app. That did not wotk?? I dont want to tap even a half of a star but I cant post the review without doing so. 5/24/17: I dont want to Jinx anything but I think its fixed!! Per EA instructions (emailed) I downloaded new phone software (which coincidentally arrived tonight), turned off the phone, then turned it on, then deleted the Scrabble app, then downloaded the new Scrabble app. Please let it be true!!! Thanks EA!!

Why are there so many issues? I cant log in via Facebook unless I delete the app and re-download it. Its very frustrating!

Facebook connect hasnt worked in over a month. Too bad since its a good game when it works.

Wow. The connectivity fix just made it impossible to use - the only thing that appears to be working is the warning about not being able to connect to Facebook.

5/2017 update: still playing; when the game works its a great game! But network connectivity is intermittent at best and every time theres an iOS update for the iPhone its like nobody at Scrabble knew it was coming or tested it for their app. Really the game is worth supporting; come on guys !! give us some support! Upgrades usually are a bust; its like we are the testers. Logins take forever to get straightened out, no forewarning of new functions or features coming. Otherwise when it works it a great game! I play on an iPhone and the graphics and sound are fine. January upgrade broke logins in EA: unable to stay logged in; havent been able to play another EA user since January !!its March ! April 2017 Addendum SSDD!! A year later and still network failures; logins stop off active user list; days go by without being able to login and there is no apparent awareness by the Support Staff when there is an IOS upgrade on the iPhone platform that might require testing or programming changes to the Scrabble app. Please you guys in St Petersburg help this great game!

Not sure what updates you made, but now Im unable to get into the app to play. Just keeps telling me its trying to connect to FB and that theres an error.

Apparently no one at App village can read. Only spell? Have someone explain the complaints.

Newer version (3.6.2) has the same "Network Error" messages and requests to log in (when Im already logged in) all the time. Checked EAs on-line help, and many others have the same problem. 2017-05: new version makes me log in to Origin every time. That was working for a long time. Request: can we get the time at the top of screen like every other app?

In one game I used the word "monel" and dictionary said it was not a word. It is. It as an alloy just like steel is an alloy of iron. Please get up to date. Monel has been around for almost 100 years

Cant find Scrabble icon on my home pages.

I thought the paid version might not be as frustrating as the free version. My husband has no trouble with his free version and I have the same cant connect, wont load issues the other people mention. I love the game when it works and its great not having ads.

I get requests to review this app all the time. I read the reviews and people dont seem very happy with it, but it doesnt seem like you actually address any of the complaints. This app crashes far too frequently. I have to remove it from my phone and reload it 5 or 6 times a year. It seems like every couple of months, it quits loading my games. I love Scrabble and I dont intend to stop playing, but honestly, this app is problematic and it drives me crazy.

This app is horrible, I have to delete it and reload every couple of weeks because I lose connectivity even after updates! The only reason I keep playing is for my mother.

When I first loaded this app 4 or 5 years ago it was great. Now it has nothing but problems. Im experiencing the same issues several others have voiced: game wont let me log in at times; it will lock up and I have to delete and re-install; it wont let me add friends; chat only shows a few words and then wont scroll; I can no longer start 3-way play; etc... Please get these problems fixed and return the app to the great status the game of Scrabble deserves

Notifications arent working It would be really nice to have a view of the turn list Its slow to update to changes from the server

In the year since my review below I am very happy with how the game plays and responds. I love it in every way. My only gripe is that it freezes up and just spins on and on when updating games. I play every day and this happens way too often, approximately every couple weeks. The only solution Ive found is to uninstall and reinstall. Otherwise I love it! Definitely Improved: I like the larger tiles, the quicker accounting of scoring, and the more respectful commentary by Teacher. Still a little room for improvement: tiles a bit slow to move to the board (perhaps fault if my glass screen protector?), after making a play I like to rearrange my tiles to help remember what I may want to play next turn, but they always come back scrambled

Honestly, its like the EA user interface department went on strike, and youve hired the competition. In the past few years, you have continually worsened the game. Using the message feature and the simple task of swiping through games have become feats of Herculean proportion. After an "update" players can guarantee there will be many days wherein the app will not even load. If this is a psychology experiment, and you are testing customer loyalty, the Scrabble app may now have reached the human psyches outer limit of patience.

**May 18th Update and April 10th Update: Yep, again this is still not fixed. Cannot recommend buying this app until the bugs are properly fixed. EA is still not addressing a major bug that renders the app useless. The current update has serious bugs. Most important is that the games dont load when logging in via Facebook. Please fix, EA.** Thanks!
